Yes but the state of Louisiana says it has to be buckshot to be legal to use on deer.0 buckshot tss at 10 yards at 1450 fps will go through a car door. The person in the diver’s seat, the seat they were setting in, and will kill the person sitting in the passenger side rear seat. This was shot at an angle and ballistic tested. That is why military and law enforcement do not use it. Yes, hard to believe but it’s true.
#2 tss will do a complete pass through on a coyote at 70 yards.
I’m 100% sure that Optima HP cremator LR choke is limited to #2 steel. Don’t know if those are what your gun takes. Mobil chokes have no stated restrictions.I went did 5 shots each at 45 yards this afternoon through a skeet, LM,M,IM carlson plus 5 rounds through a carlsons MR and LR cremator choke.
The sporting chokes pattern was absolutely horrible.
But to my surprise the cremator chokes were much better, with the LR cremator that is a IM constriction throwing at 100% pattern inside a 8 inch circle at 45 yards.
These shots were taken standing and free handed. Didnt take pics, was in a rush.
Tommorw after work I will have more free time and will set up the shooting bench at a 45 yards and really test it out.
This was the 1 once load of number 4 tss buckshot. Will also test the 1 1/4 once loads this week with all the chokes. That load is pressure tested at 1450fps. The 1 once load is at 1650 fps.
Each five shots the choke and barrel was che led for any damage and there Is zero damage done to them by the shot. Will continue to check it each five shots till I'm done testing.
For thos wondering. Carlson chokes state no steel shot bigger then BB or faster then 1550fps through the full and extra full choke. Any constriction more open then full can use any shot type at any speed. It's on the packaging and it's also what the nice lady at Carlson's told me as well.
Beretta/benelli mobil choke.I’m 100% sure that Optima HP cremator LR choke is limited to #2 steel. Don’t know if those are what your gun takes. Mobil chokes have no stated restrictions.
Tracking. Thanks for the info. I never shoot tighter than cremator LR for steel.Beretta/benelli mobil choke.
They do have a restriction. No steel shot bigger then BB or faster then 1550fps in the full or extra full choke.
Those chokes are really target chokes. Long and thin. I’m not a fan. I have a silver pigeon sporter that runs them but it’s a lead only gun, but I do hunt it for doves. That choke system is THE reason I don’t buy an Extreme. Not that the optima plus in my xtremas is any better. Those swell too with large and/or fast steel.I ruined an extended Mod. choke in my beretta 28ga shooting H15 #2. These were my reloads for coyotes. I am talking within 5-6 shots it stretched. When I called the choke manufacturer first thing he said was "beretta chokes are bad about that" He did not ask what type ammo I was shooting just jumped to optima HP choke system has issues. They replaced the choke for me no questions ask.
