It's war and anything can happen, I think that 20% holdings is going to change very soon to a much smaller number moving onto 0%.

Maybe it goes negative and Ukraine expands its border east into what is currently Russia? Time will tell. I wonder how long this bloody conflict will last? Months? Years? Decades? Hopefully a peaceful negotiation prevails soon to end the bloodshed.

Sounds reasonable. I wonder what they had Vietnam, Iraqi, Afghanistan, and Syria at the beginning of the conflicts.

WW2, with all our lend lease stuff shipped to them, a quick google and it comes up with 11.3 billion dollars back then = 180 billion in today's dollars

Hopefully we can agree that inflation is out of control and going off the gold standard was a mistake.

Honest question: do you not realize the facts and context that are obviously left out of this? Do you think we decided to have a Cold War just because? Do you think the USSR overrunning Western Europe would’ve been fine? Do you think the US losing 400k soldiers and Russia losing 12 million makes sense if Russia was the best military? Do you not know how much logistical and materiel support we gave russia in the land-lease program, and how many many WW2 historians argue that absent that support Nazi Germany would’ve steamrolled Russia?
