I just recieved a new catalog from Sportsmans Guide, their military surplus catalog. In it was an item that struck me as having some value for underwader insulation. It is listed as Used US Military Surplus Fleece overalls. They are polar fleece, zip fly, full leg zippers, elastic suspenders with a high waist. Listed as used but in good condition. They are only $8. They may not be the greatest thing in the world but for $8 might be worth a try

I like Sportsmans Guide. Lots of 'want' stuff, sometimes even 'need' stuff. I was a member (for the discounts) for decades. Don't buy as much stuff anymore (kinda got everything they offer, I guess) but still like to cruise the catalog.

Is this what you were looking at? I show it at $12 or $13, depending on member or not. So, maybe not the same?

The plus side to overalls, or long johns, is they keep the lower back covered, which I think is a big plus.

I had a few pair I wore under waders many years ago. Polar fleece...full length leg zippers but no fly zipper. My younger brother gave them to me. They were worn/used under a military dry suit.

They worked great....a long time before wader pants were available. I wore the knees and crotch out. First piece of polar fleece I ever used.

I bought the fleece union suite without sleeves. Easy in and out just in case of the undeniable emergency after that second cup of coffee. They were great this year as a base layer
