It's my opinon that unions are good for the country. Are there bad sides, yes. Are there bad people in the unions, yes. Just like there are good and bad in those who are not union.

The bottom line is this. If you don't have unions, there will be corruption. If you do have unions, there will be corruption. Which one would you rather have the corruption on? I say I would rather have it on the union side and then deal with it. Why? Because the individual worker is supported by the union. Without the union he is at the mercy of mangement and corporation.

Being retired now I can only say , I'm grateful for the support organized labor has given me to make a honest living and the benefit of being
protected medically with a nice pension ! To each is their own way of making a living , hope everyone is as satisfied as I am ?

Most people round here are anti union. The ratio has to be at least 10-1.
The reason is that they say unions fund the Democrats.
Collective bargaining results in better wages and benefits and working conditions for most workers most times.
That is why they came to be.
The most fundamental important thing in an economy is simple.
People need jobs.
The better the jobs the higher standard of living etc etc.
All I can honestly say is if there’s better conditions to be had working in a union shop then they are going to have plenty of applicants.
If organizing gets workers better conditions for their family they will organize.
Overall unions are a net positive for the country in my view.
I don’t know anyone who would refuse a better life because “It’s a dang blasted union!” “My dang blasted dues are gonna go to Democrats!” “Sorry hun, I’m staying at Burger King!”

Although personally, I’d rather set myself on fire and put the flames out with a fork than work in a union, I think construction unions are reasonably good. Teachers unions on the other hand…

Public employee unions should be obliterated, some folks need a union otherwise..I have known guys who just couldn’t bring themselves to ask for a raise to save their lives and of course many who weren’t worth one if they could.
Those meek will inherit representative negotiated crumbs, sometimes after losing months of pay picketing and grubbing for them..meh.
