Seeing more geese in Kent Co. now then when this thread was started. Still less than normal.
Very few geese.

Big increase in ducks on the Blackwater camera

Absolute clouds of ducks now - i assume teal but they kinda look bigger
If you look at the banner of the site for the webcam, you see the 'fields' filled with water but the webcam itself currently shows only a small pond on the left of the berm and no water on the right.
Any thoughts as to why that is? (I noticed this lack of water elsewhere on the lower eastern shore this year...didn't know if there's a bit of a regional drought going on or if is something else.)

They control the water there. My guess is that they haven't filled that section yet.

Blackheads on Choptank this morning. Or maybe they were scaup..or maybe bluebills. Hard to tell the difference.

The impoundments shown on the cam are dependent on adequate rainfall/runoff in the swamp to the north of Key Wallace. The rainfall will fill holding ponds located between and surrounding the impoundments, they will then release the water into the impoundments through numerous structures located throughout the system. With the lack of rainfall we have had they probably only have enough water to flow into the lower impoundment at this time. They do not have wells near those particular impoundments and they cannot pump from the outside due to salinity.

Loads of geese and ducks piled in the past few days here on KI.
