Make A Difference Outdoors is hosting waterfowl hunts for veterans in the grasslands. They have a larger than normal number of veterans looking for a hunt this year and are currently short about 8 spots. If you can host a veteran, please PM me. Below is the email that went out to the veterans.

Hello to Everyone,

This years’ duck hunt is in the Los Banos, CA area on Sat Feb 10 thru 12, which is after the closure of the general season. Previously we have enjoyed great success rates on this date. There will be more info on this hunt in the next week or so but the basics are:

  1. MAD provides a guided hunt on Saturday Feb 11th and trap shooting on Sunday morning. We also cover the hotel rooms… a dinner on Friday night…a BBQ on Saturday afternoon… and breakfast at the trap range on Sunday morning.

  1. You would need to arrive in Los Banos Friday late afternoon / evening with your current California Hunting license, a CA [ State ] Waterfowl Stamp and Federal Migratory Bird Stamp, Waders and Gun.
You will hunt a private club with a guide on Saturday. At this time we are still receiving commitments at the various clubs we work with and do not have an exact number of spots determined yet. If you want to participate this year please reply to this email and advise you are in. Our crew at MAD Outdoors will do everything possible to get each of you a spot but if we do come up short you will be first up next year and most likely will hunt with us then

All, this is a great time with much comradery. We usually have 20+ heroes like yourselves participating.

Looking forward to hearing from you all.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!

Best to all, Scott – MAD Outdoors

A non-vet may join and assist the veteran in the blind, but the non-vet may not hunt.

Just a question, if the non shooters/non vet retrieve downed birds is that considered hunting?

Not an expert, but I’d call that assisting.
