I'm pretty sure my excuse to not go duck hunting today is valid.
I should be sitting about 1/2 mile up a bay from the ocean mouth. LST is in 6 minutes.
Not going duck hunting because a Tsunami warning. That's a first!!!

Wow, cool shots! The shot where you can see the shock wave on the satellite is incredible.

I have a buddy hunting a stationary blind about 4 miles up in the bay. I called him this morning to see if he saw the warning. He replied "yeah, we'll have our life jackets in the blind with us:l
If I wasn't going solo I probably would of went. Maybe. Turned out to be a nothing burger.

I remember seeing the footage that was captured from the 1964 AK earthquake/tsunami at Crescent City CA, the footage showed the wave coming in. They found the camera on the beach after the tsunami, never found the person who took it (Darwin effect). This one is not as big as the AK event, but Crescent city is a wild card, the ocean floor funnels waves into the area. They had to rebuild the harbor after the Indonesia earthquake/tsunami.
