I’m looking at purchasing a venom red dot for my turkey gun. I’ve never used a sight on shotgun only beads so my question is how do I need to begin the process of sighting it in and what yardages do y’all shoot for the initial start of the process, I figure some of you guys have some of these and have mastered the process and know the best way. Thanks

I will follow this discussion interested only that some time down the road, with inevitable reduced vision, I may need a scope. I have sighted down a rifle scope many times, and of course being many yards away from the quarry, usually have had plenty of time to execute the shot. At present only using one of those light-gathering gizmos on my shotgun, which helps in the early hours, to aim at the gobbler.

I just shot mine a few times at 20 yards with a dub load, put the dot where the mass was, and shot it with a turkey load to make sure POI was the same as the dub loads. Then, did a 40 yard shot to pattern (newly built out gun).

Did you notice that much drop from 20 to 40 yards

Laser bore site is fine for 25-30 yards...

A little fine tuning on the vertical, and you should be close...

No. Think I went up about an inch, but didn’t have to.
