Sounds reasonable. Thieves plead down a first offense. Cost them a hell of a lot of money, on probation and their reputations are done.

Hate it! They been theiving for a LONG LONG time. What is sad, is cheating happens in the biggest of tournaments. You make a big enough name for yourself, they let it all slide. If you keep up with MLF, they sweep a lot under the rug for the right person. Only reason Sprague made it in the news last year was because another angler made it public knowledge on social media. Lots believe MLF would of done nothing about it if that person wasn't so forth coming about what he had done. The few "best anglers" on their tour are known to have failed multiple polygraphs, but they arent going to throw their big names away that draw all the attention and viewership. Love the sport of fishing, hate the dirtiness around it.

My best friend, fishes for the MLF, was going to be fined more than they fined Sprague for cheating, just because he wanted to leave a tournament early because he did so poorly the first day of his tournament. Wanted to go practice for the next event and was doing it as business move. Bass fishing is a dirty dirty game and its been going on longer than these tool bags getting caught. One of the big reasons I do it for fun and only fish charity tournaments.

Theres an old guy I know that made a name way back in the day. He said that he went to a dinner when he was playing the bass game and chasing dreams. He said he went to a dinner and many of the anglers were walking away or telling him he had better have deep pockets because guys were paying locals to post up waypoints of lakes they were getting ready to have tournaments on. They would pay these locals to post them at 11:55pm, they could download the waypoints to their GPS chips and the link was deleted at 11:59pm. This would happen the night before the "no information rule" went into effect. Only those that paid knew the website where these waypoints would be uploaded.

All fishing tournaments need to be ended!
*******izing the resource!
I dont know, I have a really good time in all the charity deals I do. I always love the end of it all when I get to sit around drink a few brewskis and eat some food with all the dudes and lie to them how all the fish were caught. For the most part, the fish die off is very little. So I can appreciate the smaller fun tournaments. And love the idea that half the entry fees go to a charity.

From the article: "The men agreed to up to a three-year suspension of their fishing licenses and forfeited Cominsky’s Ranger bass boat worth $100,000 to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources."

This legit?: A bass boat for $100k. If so, may God bless all you fisherman as your wives are the best ladies out there to allow that kind of expense for a hobby. I know zero about fishing other than I use minnows and bobbers for everything. So this number really surprised me.
