Looks like I'll be moving to the Springs area this winter.
From the research I've done it seems the best hunting is in the NE corner and/or private leases.

On DU's website it seems there are a handful of places ~2hr or so to the south. Are these places worth going to?

Is there anything closer to town?

Should I start looking for a lease?

It will be next year (possibly the year after) before I have the time to hunt, so atleast I have some time to figure things out.
I've seen some Canadas flying in town and a group of what I believe were gradually.

Any help is greatly appreciated! If the answer is save my money and go on 1 week long out-of-state trip a year, I'll understand.. but might be somewhat disappointed

From what I hear east co gets pretty crowded. The flyway in the west isn’t much of a flyway. I’m new to duck hunting so I don’t have much to compare it to(I’m on the western slope). Check out some spots when you get out here learn the area and good luck!
