Shoulda hunted today. Cold and blowing hard. Trying to figure out options for upcoming week. Plenty out there. I am expecting this weather to bring some birds and get ones here active.

The cold is here and looks like it’ll stick around the next 10 days, but I’m afraid we’ll have snow cover the whole time as well if this next system moves in like they’re predicting. Around here, there ain’t much food besides cut crop fields that will keep them.

Whoever wanted this damn weather change got it.

It was like traveling into town, went 65 to 35 in a tap of the breaks. Pretty much constant snow cover here since that Sunday I was hanging metal on a shed in a t-shirt what seems like some time ago.

Tho it sure was nice this morning. No wind, sunny, 25 degrees and comfortable, catching a tan.

Time to dig out the snow camos. Forecast for ESVA is anywhere from 3"-12". I love hunting in the snow. Might have to grab the recurve and small game arrows as well and kill some rabbits or call in some foxes at night.

Foxes are out and about hard right now breeding season and we have good snow ice cover. Had some melting today but didn’t do much other than soften the crust. Ice has been a struggle. Geese will not get up and go to corn it’s really starting to get in my crawl

If you are targeting Geese when it gets real cold, sleep in and hunt then in the afternoon. they typically fly and feed much better in the afternoons when it gets real cold.
