weiss lake duck & goose hunting

    Does anyone know the regulations for hunting alabama power lakes ( weiss ), or know where i can find a copy on the internet?

    looking to waterfowl hunt there this season!

    They have funky guidelines, and I don't know half of them. As I understand it, you can't get out of your boat. I did hear that AL Power is supposed to be opening a WMA on Weiss in the future. It was in a video on their website.

    thanks for the info, i heard you could get out of the boat but not with your gun, ive contacted the local game warden but no reply!

    I work for APCO and the rules are goofy. You can’t hunt from bank, or in water wading, you have to stay in boat while hunting. You can retrieve downed birds but do not carry firearm in water with you. And for the management areas that’s gonna be a joke it’s gonna be youth only hunting. And probably won’t ever be built.

    thanks for the info, i've been on the phone with several people this week, from DNR in mobile to local game warden to alabama power, finnaly got an answer!
    just wanting to be able to go shoot some geese and maybe a duck or two, where i live we have nothing, i stay on weiss most of the year bass fishing.

    You ever fish Neely Henry lake? As good of crappie and bass fishing, IMO.

    been a few years, but used to fish it about once a month, just tournament fish.
