Sad news. We will very occasionally get HABs (harmful algal blooms a.k.a. cyanobacteria) on our end of my lake. Like a few times in the last 20+ years. When you live on a lake and your dog is used to swimming every day it is hard to keep them out of the water.

Read that as get that email feed. That was a terrible story to read. I was kicking around going out for weekend to SLC as amateur to run my pup in the hunt tests. Always scary our dogs can get something that we don't recognize as dangerous and they are dead dogs walking in the next moment. I always try and look around when I get to where I am going to train.

Very aware of the issue, F&G has an old flooded salt pond across the street from my house. A guy lost 2 pointers after training them in the pond, it’s now on the list of known toxic waterways and there’s a warning sign put up by the health department. Fish and Game could fix the problem by putting in another flood gate to increase water flow, but won’t because “it costs money” (their official response). Won’t let my dogs anywhere near it!
