Well, looks like we're raising a baby dove.

No, she had a generous moment and said killing the hawk wouldn't bring Petey back so we let it go. Lucky little *******.

Should’ve grilled him with Petey. Would serve him right.

RIP Petey.

Hopefully nothing digs up his grave. I talked my parents in to buying me a cat when I was a kid and the first night we let it stay outside our lab killed it. I built a cross and buried it. The next day the dog dug it up,
tore the fur off and brought it back to the yard. Funny now but I was pretty bummed at the time.

An anthem for Petey.

….a dove in a grave lol, that bird keeps giving. The only thing we have when gone are a grave and folks who remember us…Petey did well for a dove, eh?

Bummer on Petey. When I had a small dove field those damned coopers hung around way too much for my liking.

Will miss his adventures.

I don't get the hate for predators...especially amongst hunters.

Only snowflakes root for the gazelle over the lion....

I don’t hate predators, but the reverence for raptors among bird hunters is relatively new. Folks once shot the hell out of them, and all celebrated.

Oh I admire hawks. Love watching them. But there was a moment yesterday when I would have rolled this particular one out of the tree in my front yard and not been too upset about it.
