I have a few that stalk my bird and squirrel feeders on cold days. I shew them away but would never harm them. I guess they have to eat too. Sorry to hear about Pete, it has been an enjoyable thread

Oh I admire hawks. Love watching them. But there was a moment yesterday when I would have rolled this particular one out of the tree in my front yard and not been too upset about it.

I like to watch them to but i,d have rolled that one first time he went after my Petey!

I don’t hate raptors, and they can be fascinating to watch. That said, I don’t understand the modern reverence which makes them more special than other birds. Were the laws different, this Eagle wouldn’t have gotten my canvasback. I don’t know how many birds we average losing each season, but it’s well over 20.

You've obviously never busted your arse all summer building and maintaining a Dove field. Coopers go from predator to pest.
