    Pretty cool stuff, it seams the battery packs are becoming more and more common with guys who harvest them. Post the map when you get a chance, I am very curious.

    They're $1,500 solar packs these days:

    The one above is being secured with toggled subcutaneous wires (not yet crimped and clipped short in this shot) but I'm guessing most are still more traditional "backpacks". I see at least one of those pictured in the thread has a neoprene pad and wonder if those taking such birds have looked to see if the neoprene's degraded with exposure and rubbed the bird raw. Believe most still use that thought-to-be padding, but understand that our state's tracking studies leader believes the birds better off without, whether "backpack" or wired.
