One word sums it up today...Boo! Not even a get down or don't move!
Did you scout your spot yesterday/last week or did you just go to the blind hoping something flew by?
I rely on the internet for scouting.
Fun morning. No, I didn’t scout yesterday, but the neighbor deer hunter told me what he saw yesterday. It was roughly what we saw when we scouted/ blind brushed this past Saturday. Pretty much everybody I know has access to at least a few ducks. Better opener than the last several.
None of our blinds at home hold ducks, scouting does nothing. Might go one day to the blind,do good next day nothing. You can't over hunt a blind around here. Take your chances, we have missed a majority of our birds for this year due to cold weather earlier this month and the fact that they come by later October-early november.
So, you are in your blind and ducks fly by; the only reason they land is because of your calling or your decoys? That sounds terrible.
had a great opener
You got it Toyota! That's why you got to be on top of your game. must capitalize on the opportunities, don't get many. Decoys must be perfect, calling superb and top notch shooting!
I had a cat come in my tent blind today. Scared the **** out of both of us!
Going Sat, maybe. Got geese, not sure of permission yet on the farm. Got rain too.
If that doesn't pan out, got another farm. No crops. Just cows, cow Schmitt and grass. But near some water and in a fly route mostly. Hope the day isn't gallons of coffee, junk food and same old worn out stories and jokes.
Hey pull my finger....yuk yuk yuk.
...............and they ask me why I drink.
