I didn't want to highjack the Shane thread. There have been so many western films remade.

Name the film or films and if you liked the original or the remake better. Lets see where this goes?

True Grit
Who doesn't love John Wayne. But I liked the Cohen brothers version better. Bridges was a little more greasy and believable. Bridges can play a degenerate probably better than anybody. Brolin and Barry Pepper were more grittier and grimy in their parts also.

310 to Yuma
I always liked Glen Ford in his classic roles. But again I prefer the remake better. Russel Crowe plaid a better outlaw. Christian Bale is such a great actor. And Ben Foster was just a flat out killer.

Post up some films.

I haven't watched a lot of TV , or movies.
The most recent service we have has the GRIT channel. I've been recording some of those westerns, And have watched maybe 5 of them over the past couple of months Just finished Fort Apache and Roster Cogburn .

I did read the whole Sacketss series 35 years ago,, and the movies with Tom Selleck

I actually thought the recent remake of The Magnificent Seven was quite well done. As much as I like the original, I thought the update was at least as good. :tu

The Mandalorian on Disney. It's not a remake, but it's like a western.

not a western, but im excited to watch Sisu next month. From the john wick makers...
Long story short,
Finnish soldier loses family in war, leaves society to mine gold, finds gold, goes to cash in gold and comes upon a group of retreating scorched earth nazis along the way....action .... not historically accurate but looks pretty entertaining.

Marble Mouth Bridges was not anywhere near as good as Mr. Wayne.

Got that on Tubi, liked it pretty good.

I like the originals, plain and simple.
