Quaker Boy Grand Old Master. Inexpensive, sounds good, easy to use, kills birds.

Primos Box Cutter was my main box call for many seasons…Primos Heartbreaker & Lil’ Heartbreak are very good calls also…

For customs, I’ve been stuck on Paul’s Call for a long time…

Halloran box call as a back-up…

My go to box call is the Roger Latham True Tone I bought when I first started chasing turkeys in the early 1980's. I wish I knew how many turkeys I have called into the gun for myself and others over the years. Sadly I did not turkey hunt this spring as my worn-out body said it is time to quit. My grandson will be getting all of my calls.

I was at an outdoor show one time when a local call maker shoved a box call in my hand to try out. The first thing it did was to try to purr with it. It would not purr. He admitted it would not purr. He was not happy when I told him it would never be in my vest loud enough for his admirers around him to hear.

Cody has a one-sider that’s pretty easy to yelp and cut on. I stink on a box and rarely pull it out except as a last resort trying to get a gobble, and I’ve killed several because that call got them started.
