I’m looking to hear what type of situations happen at your rice blind if water doesn’t get turned on? Does your lease have a full or partial refund? Pro rate? Blind fees carry over? I’m facing two very different situations on different sides of the valley and I’d like to hear what others got going on.

I checked with Dandy...he said we will have water as long as the tide isn’t out so no refunds.

That water is gross. Not brackish enough.

With Calplant purchasing stubble, let me say that again, PURCHASING STUBBLE, expect more of the same = less decomp.
Could be a blessing for the refuge water situation yet a bust for the fellas who want to hunt the refuges.
Dry field goose hunts may be the new normal for future rice ground.

We found today that we may not get any decomp water on our blind near Sutter NWR. If we don't get water we can hunt the field dry for half price ($4500). With 3 blinds in the field I don't think that would work out well for geese. If we don't pay the $4500 we would lose the blind we've had for 6 years. Best case is one flood up for a total of $6000 for the season to hunt for maybe a month. We do have other options but still would hate to lose a decent blind.

Ouch!!! If the field is dry wonder why the cost especially since you've been there for 6 yrs???
I'd talk to the other two blinds and figure out some type of hunting rotation. Make it a win win instead of a lose lose.
