Was it 1 or 2 birds per day in the west central region during the regular season last year?

The DEC site says 1 bird but I swore it was 2. Maybe they're changing the site in preparation for the proposed limit this year.

Was there a west central last year or is it new, part of the western zone? Southeast was 2 now 1. At least mallards is still 2! I had heard it was going to 1.

Pretty sure this area has been west central since I started hunting here 8 or 9 years ago.

The geese there don't fly a little south into those zones where its 5 a day.

Far far fewer places available to hunt, head a little south and you are in Westchester and the NYC Burroughs. Other directions nearby don’t have the same access opportunities.

With all due respect there are lots of areas open to hunting below the West Central and South Central plus not even close to NYC and the Burroughs, look at the map. It just makes no sense to me that they can fly 30 or 40 miles and into a 5 bird area.

I haven’t looked at the map lately because I’ve lived here for 50+ years, but you’ve got my attention! I drive from Westchester to Orange and Lower Sullivan counties and also hunt along the Hudson and Wallkill Rivers. I don’t like to go more than 1 hour 45 mins. If you personally scout the area just beyond the BashaKill, where you cross the line, it is private access only lakes. Sounds like you know something I haven’t found! Please share!
