Neither has an offensive odor. Greens and cabbage do.
I had some frozen turnips, parsnips (from making Beef stew last week) thawed & added them to my cabbage, 'taters & carrots-Not bad!Not that we only have it on St. Pat's Day but mama has got a big piece of corned beef simmering on the stove as I peck this for supper tonight and we'll be having boiled potatoes, cabbage and carrots with it....she doesn't but I also like some spicy horseradish sauce on the side with mine.

I'd try that-I love some hominy- white or yellow don't matter!Seasoned with sage and red pepper and served up with Homny , Greens and wet cornbread. Good eats.
