What is funny is if there were lines to plug in, those who irrationally hate EVs would use that as evidence as to why we shouldn't adopt them! lol. I think it is a good thing that we have "too many" chargers right now as EVs become a greater and greater piece of the transportation puzzle we will need them.

Public charging stations will never be used like gas stations are used. Most people charge at home most of the time. If every night when you got home your car magically filled with gas while you slept how often would you need to go to a gas station?
97% of EV’s are still on the road. The remaining 3% actually made it home to get recharged.

The Green Energy Cult is about political power, NOT the environment.

They charge mostly at home?
When you own an EV you try to avoid using a charging station unless you are on a trip.

Curious how you can tell the political persuasion of a person from the type of fuel they use to power their transportation.
It ain't an exact science, but I bet I could nail it at a pretty high percentage!

You are very fortunate that WA has the lowest electricity rates in the country (largely due to hydropower). Here in CA my marginal electricity rate is $0.52/kWh and rising fast - up over 20% over the past year.

Wait until they start taking the dams down and replacing it with solar...
Same for my electricity rates. EV is not ever going to happen at my home unless electricity gets much cheaper. Not to mention all the other issues. I really don’t care what other people drive, but liberals seem driven to micromanage everyone else’s choices. LGB, and Gavin Newsom also.

But didn't Pres. Hussein (a few years ago) say something about electricity rates may necessarily go up? :scratch

I could see it in your state where there are very few electric vehicles. But in my state we are a bit further ahead of the adoption curve. There are 3x more electric vehicles in my county (9276 - population 925,708) than your state (3180 - population 4.59million).

If electric rates go up you can get solar (if you own your home) they will finance it and the payment will be less than the money you spend on your electric use. Most payoff times are less than 10 years and you no longer have to worry about rates "going up" and it ultimately helps the grid. The more they go up the more economically viable they become.

What are your options when gas prices go up?

I don’t have enough sun here to grow tomatoes. How well does the solar thing work in the woods?

Our rates are relatively low due to TVA, but we experienced the first rolling blackouts ever in December ‘22. Rapidly growing population and changes in the system put them in a spot where there just wasn’t enough power. On the plus side, Tennessee and TVA appear to be embracing new nuclear technology https://www.nei.org/news/2022/tva-establishes-new-nuclear-program.

There is no place in the US where solar doesn't work. It is less picky than tomatoes. If it works in wet Western Washington, it will work where you are.

Yeah that nuke stuff is great. Plus they promise it will be safe and they wouldn't lie about stuff ...... right? Trust the science.

I am just fine with Nuclear as long as it is East of the Rockies and they store the nuclear waste in the state where it was generated. May the odds be ever in your favor.
