Coal will go to wherever the market is. In the op case, overseas is where the demand is at. I work for a coal conglomerate and most all we mine ends up in China or India. The United States wants no coal, so most everything mined ends up overseas.

I was camping near the Thunder Basin Coal mines Gillet Wy, rail lines. Never heard a single train.
Last year about every 90 minutes a big train would be rolling down the track. So maybe in part the other mining districts I pushing out more coal

We shouldn’t kid ourselves. The world of capitalism runs on a free-market system, but “we” don’t really have one. The government(s) manipulate most things in the form of tariffs, quotas and/or trade agreements. Meanwhile, the goods will flow to wherever they can generate the most profits.

Since I work for that railroad you see everyday, I can say with about 100% certainty it’s going to China and anyone else that wants to buy it. Did anyone think that with our go green government that those that own coal were not going to keep producing it and selling it to whoever? This country should wake back up to reality and use what we have.

Concerning coal a buddy told me Qanon is Scientology for Hillbillys.
Coal sales may be fueling things we do not know about.
