After working on the road for years I finally got to retire and am looking forward to finally getting a chance to hunt like I used to in the old days. Just wondering how many of my old hunting pals still frequent the forums. I keep in touch with medulla and Gary chambers, but have lost touch with so many others over the years (job related and totally my fault). Just wondered if some of the old and seasoned crew are still around such as Van, Outlaw, Belton banger, Dan, and so on. My old friend mark langties passed away from cancer awhile back and is missed. I d like to hear from some of the old crew if anyone is still around…thanks and happy hunting!

Dang, I guess the forums aren’t what they used to be…did all y’all quit duck hunting in Texas recently? I am looking for someone to share a blind with, providing you don’t mind hunting with an old fart that hunts over a spread of hand carved decoys….so who’s alive enough to hunt these days?

Not sure of the members you referred to, but apparently most left for another website some time ago.
The link below explains that the website owner passed away, and it has been resurrected elsewhere. Once the new site was up, most left again.

Just saw this.
I posted there until they wanted $$$ to join. I think that's what it was. SDH and waterfowler.com ruined their sites somehow. I forget exactly. Waterfowler.net had no members and no traffic.

I posted then as 'beav', since I was a beaver pond specialist back then. For awhile , SDH was the best of the waterfowl sites.....

I miss all the sarcastics and non-stop ribbing. Every kid did not get a trophy back in the day but the Texans looked out for each other off the interwebs.

Swing. The guy that hit an owl and staged a photo on the bow of his boat that resulted in a visit from the Gold Badges. The Law Officer from Orange, TX and on and on. The Persian Guy also. He was a good man.

A few went down, flocknocker, the southern outdoorsman to name a few.

Social media has about gutted the forums
