Yes I like it that NATO is stronger because of the US and NATO (and future NATO) countries standing up to Putin. Fighting and greatly weakening the Russian Army continues to be a great investment by the West.

NATO has been strong because of us, despite the lack of commitment from some of the member nations. Some of that seems to have changed. More seem committed now that they are confronted with a very real and un ignorable threat. I just hope this does not end up bleeding us out financially. We are not immune from economic collapse, and right now I am not convinced we have done everything economically possible to help end this situation. I am convinced we are spending to much money vs or GDP ratio.

I previously posted this well stated point but without the link.

Secretary of State Blinken in his speech to the UN stated,
"If Russia stops fighting in Ukraine the war ends.
If Ukraine stops fighting, Ukraine ends"

As a die-hard American, Southern and from Texas, my question has always been, why are we supporting Ukraine as if Ukraine is part of Nato? If one doesn't have to be part of Nato to get our support, then what are the benefits of being in Nato?

Also, does anyone else see the hypocrisy of the U.S. in this war? Back in the 60's, the U.S. was willing to go to war over the Cuban Missle Crisis. Why? Because it put Russia at our back door. How is that any different then making Ukraine part of Nato. It puts U.S. bases at Russia's back door.

And, the U.S. of late is crying and warning China not to send any weapons or ammo to support Russia. Yet all the while we, the U.S., are sending all kinds of weapons and money to support Ukraine. How can we say that with a straight face? But we do.

Good comparison on Cuba. Ukraine is a modern day Bay of Pigs, only much, much worse.
