yup...at least you're being honest...we are discussing goose calls...which was Ricks bread and butter...so to speak...duck calls aren't the start and end of of waterfowl calling....

I'm not sure if Rick made whistles of any sort. Just duck and goose calls.
Rick has an amazing following for many reasons.
Years ago he was on the contest calling circuit and gained quite the notoriety with contestants and others. He then began to make calls for himself. He got to know a whole other side of the call world as well as many of the same guys.
He made calls for the working guy. Rick was a blue collar man so that encouraged him to make calls for them.
He had the biggest heart and donated so many calls to many different functions.
He made calls for companies and big wigs as well.
Rick being local, made his name here...but having people in key areas...I believe he's known world wide...but his biggest following is here in Illinois.
I worked for Rick for about a year...but I brought him clients years before that...just because I fell in love with his calls and considered Rick one of the finest friends I had.
Many of my buddies owned at least one Winglock call.
I ended up collecting quite a few.
I then got out of collecting, and sold most off.
Other then Rick having a huge heart, he was fun to talk to. Very funny and was on the Fuge for many years. He made fun of everyone in his own way. He made Ebonics extremely funny.
He made fun of us diver hunters...but I think deep down inside he was one at heart... ;-)
He had one of the best customer service in place in the business.
He'd do his best to teach other how to use his calls or calls in general.
This is why he was such a legend to so many of us.

I have a couple of his duck calls and I could kill ducks with them. FB page not updated, website address no good, my guess is likely sell any inventory and unfortunately that will be it.

Rick usually did not post much on the FB page and as for the website, it was taken down the day of his passing. I know what inventory was at a local store has been sold BUT Rick always had inventory at the house, what is going to be done with that is yet to be announced. There is a celebration of life coming up and if anything is announced then someone I am sure will address the masses and let us all know

I’d always wanted to try one of his double whacks as well as a par 4, but never did get around to buying one from him. I did get a speck call from him
