Got three Canada geese while pass shooting a snow covered salt marsh during the NJ Special Winter Canada goose season today. 361D30AE-E2F0-40DF-BCF6-4B59C685E55C.jpeg Used 12 gauge 3” Kent 1 3/8 oz bismuth #4 shotgun shells. Biggest was a 12.75 lb male.

It looks like #4 bismuth worked well for you. I have as always considered #4 bismuth a duck load (comparable to lead #6). With bismuth being less dense than lead I followed the rule of thumb of about 2 shot sizes larger pellet with bismuth than with lead.

I thought bismuth was comparable to lead.

I did too when it first came out. It is actually not as dense as lead. It is soft like lead and it responds to chokes like lead. If you do a google search you will find info on lead, steel, bismuth, comparisons.
