    mine is horrible lately...

I don’t understand why most of these young guys have such a narcissistic overinflated egotistical attitude, and I’m talking about the foreman and shop guys that have been with a contractor for a few years

When a foreman tells me he expects more work out of me, well it’s time to throw the anchor out. I don’t wear roller skates for any contractor. Lol

Rant over. Have a great day

:l The worst thing a manager can tell a railroader is to “hurry up” or to write one of us up for some stupid rule infraction. I can tell ya how many railroad ties are in certain tracks or how many steps it is from here to here in the rail yard. Plus, pooping becomes an issue.

I feel yuh bro. Had my nose rubbed in "rate" one day.

I flipped out and pointed out I'm polishing a terd.
"You want it right or fast?".

Darryl, love the guy, would wait.
    Boss says "fast and right".
    Darryl...
"I suppose you want it perfect too right? God dont work here".

My old boss flipped one day, he became more about getting jobs done fast than getting jobs done right.
He lost his care and desire for craftsmanship, that’s when I struck out on my own.

I hear you. Nothing worse than someone out to prove themselves. Thankfully we arent currently effected by that but we were a short time ago. Weve lost 7 guys in the last 6 months for various reasons and we havent been able to hire anyone worth a sheet. We start our apprentices at 20 an hour fully green no experience necessary and still cant find decent help. The pile keeps getting bigger and the shovel keeps getting smaller.

I can't stand the guys that kiss the bosses @$$ and treat everyone like they are the A-team and can't do any wrong. That sort of backstabbing clickie crap used to drive me crazy. I was a much better worker that did almost twice as much per day than the "A-team" guys did so when it got slow I was always one of the last to get laid off. It used to do my heart good watching the supposed A-team packing up their tools on their last day.

Was non union and there was right right and wrong right and right wrong and ...wrong wrong.
Once I got sent out to this house by a friend.
Got there and there's two women, five kids, and a worthless pos crackhead.

It took me about 90 minutes of going "theres nothing wrong what did you fix dude?".
Finally he caved and pointed at a light.
Bingo. 5 minutes later and I was gone.

    Them women tried paying me.
I said let me pay you.
    "Kick him out"... i whispered.
    Bye

Yea we went through that the last few years I was laying brick. All good company men on the wall n they tried pushing. That didn’t work so good. After a few years of working for myself I’m pretty certain I’m almost unemployable. I enjoy working I just don’t think I could go back to having a boss very easily. Add in that people seem to suck more then 10 years ago I imagine it is bad
