I do my cork decoys and my herters the same way. I use heavy tarred nylon line. I hunt varied water depth so I have 10 foot lines. I do use slotted bags. Mostly hunt with only one dozen of the cork. Very seldom would I put out all 2 1/2 dozen. Corks were a gift from my wife, herters a gift from my mother. All 20 plus years ago. I do have a half dozen Lifetime foam on Texas rigs if I should walk in. Hunt mostly from boat.

I figure eight most all my boat hunting puddlers and goose decoys. Around the neck, across the back and around the tail. These are cork , foamers and herters. Also wrap some single divers and have many divers on longlines. All my walk in plastics and impoundment decoys are texas rigged with fixed weights and sliding line with a large loop on end. pick up decoy attach to carabiner, keep walking. Never have to get your hand wet and very easy to deploy as well. Just all depends on the hunt location for the day
