    What!

I had written my long ago friends , one is 98 years-old the other two in their 80's.
    Christmas letter,, for them.
Being a last minute on this,, why was I procrastinating. I had plans to send each a nice Christmas nativity type card. The letter is written.
I found plenty of Friends cards, some tree cards, some cards celebrating and addressing relationships, Mother, father , daughter, aunt uncle. Money cards. Fireplaces, dogs, cats, deer. Snow at a farm , in an eastern town, kids sledding, horse pulling slieghs

But at the dollar store ? and drug store, even the Hallmark display didnt have any Christ centered cards with a Christs birth type of message.

I'm just now reading this post. I feel like people have forgotten what Christmas is all about. It's about God gifting us with his son, it's not just about giving gifts to each other. We all need to remember what it's about!

The gifts started with three wise men.
Myself I enjoy a gift that's not bought.
    Something home made.
    Food is always good.
The corporate commercialization of the sacred holy day is not right.
    "Charlie Brown".

Would it be possible to change the title of this post to CHRISTMAS and get rid of the X crossing out Christ???

It's not "crossing out" Christ; it's simply an abbreviation. It's been used for centuries (since Constantine I think), and came about because the Greek word for Christ began with X. Nothing nefarious here.

I made the post title because I do not like the uses of X mas.

Why not out of curiosity? I used to be the same until someone pointed out that it isn't the slight that many think it is.

it probably all depends on what our current culture believes it to mean. I'm not sure that I know anyone in my circle who knows the history of the word Χριστός as it is associated with the word Christmas. Just for the record, I'm not a fan of the english X either, but that's just me I suppose.
