Need to put 'em on a leash. I use, and often abuse, a knife in one manner or another nearly daily, usually several times, and keep my Mini Griptilian tethered to a belt loop with a decoy cord lanyard long enough for most quick uses. Same sturdy little one-handed folder that cleans my fingernails cleans my deer, and is always there when needed.

Western cutlery knife like this. I've had the same one for almost 30 years it seems like.

Roselli Bear Claw, small but has done everything from caping bear to cleaning moose and elk. Yellow gaffer's tape on the handle, lol.

Rapala filet knife for breasting and fish. Don't have a daily carry.

I think my most favorite is a Spyderco Endura in a full flat grind. Second is a Spyderco Manix lightweight. These are my work/outdoors favorites.

My favorite for the weekends is the Benchmade Bugout. So light you forget it’s there.
