We were there too!
4 for 12 shots? That kid can shoot!
Junior and I hunted Sac on Saturday. We were the third group to take FR.
Went to an area I'm real familiar with and not a soul around.
Set out two pairs of mallard dekes and waited.
A pair of mallards floated in and jr took a shot dumping the drake. At the report of the shotgun the area literally exploded with duck in the hundreds, mostly mallards.
They all settled back in right where they were instead of flying off.
We had decent shooting but it sure would have helped to have more kids out pushing the birds around.
Ian ended with a nice limit of mallards, pintail, teal and finished up with a pair of gaddys.
The gaddys floated in and he smoked the hen, the drake climbing for freedom got met with a load of 2's.
The boy can shoot, killing seven ducks with half a box to spare.
No shots at geese as they were all on the west side of the 5.
A great hunt but no pics.
Next year when he’s like 63lbs he’s gonna do well!
Lots of birds flying today for these two! I love the junior hunts, gonna be sad when my boys age out.
3rd year for us with the Lambertville crew. So much fun. These guys go above and beyond to put these kids on some birds. Thank You cannot express my sons and my gratitude as well!
Really like seeing gals at the table there. Need way more. A sure avenue trying to push hunting to a upswing.
Saturday and Sunday were epic for my last jr hunt
Nothing but good times and great memories ahead for these two. A gundog pup is nothing but endless hope and possibilities wrapped in fur
