Zink Power Hen or XR-2 ??

I found the same thing as dbeischer. We're both use to blowing double reed duck calls but like Dave, I just couldn't get the hang of the xr2. I have no doubt that in the right hands it's a great call but just not for me.
I have had the XR-2 and the Power Hen, I sold the XR-2 because I could not get it, I praticed, but could not work it out. The Power Hen has good sounding Duck, it is a soft call and like someone said before it takes pratice not to over blow. I would pick the Power Hen.

Yep. PH-2 and the ATM Green Machine.
I have not tried those.
I think my XR2 is good, but it’s not “that” call.
It sounds great but only in a specific volume if that makes sense.
Zink makes good calls. The elusive brass band hand sanded xr2 were highly coveted at one point.
I just don’t think Zink gets much love on here, thought I would bump them. They good!

The PH-2 is my main call. It’s not loud, but the areas I hunt it’s more than enough. For me, it has a super ducky sound. I have a few others, but I always end up using it as my primary.

I had an early XR-2 that lived up to their "just like a duck" reputation, but it wasn't fun to run and pretty much a one trick pony. So my favorite thing about it is the memory of being able to give it to a young college student who'd fallen hard for one he'd tried at a show but couldn't afford.
