Going to look at a used 8’ Aquapod, but unsure of specs/weight capacity? I’m 6’2”, and try to stay well under 225…if I’m lucky. ;)

Just not sure if the 8’ version is long enough for me to paddle/hunt solo with a few dekes and gear?

The site doesn’t show info on the 8’ anymore.

Any input appreciated….search didn’t help.

I have an 8-foot AquaPod and have used the heck out of it since I bought it new in 2002. I don't paddle around in it because it is too short to be a good paddler and I have boats that work much better in that application.
Instead, I use it for 1. a decoy sled and 2. a layout blind. It works very well for both applications with one caveat: It is just barely long enough to use as a layout for me; I'm 5'6". For your height, the 10 footer would be the way to go if you plan to lay out in it. The 8-footer will carry your weight and gear, no problem, there just isn't a lot of room in it for more than a couple dozen decoys, you, and your other gear.
The unit (I actually hesitate to call it a "boat") is sturdy and tough as nails and is an important part of my duck hunting equipment.

I did notice that the 8-foot Aqua Pod is no longer listed on their website. Not too surprised; it was expensive for what it is and not exactly versatile. I'm glad I got mine.

My buddy’s got an eight that he bought for $400 a handful of years ago. I’m 6’5, about 270 and I hate it. I feel like I’m trying to paddle around from inside of a matchbox car. I can’t paddle it straight to save my life, and i definitely couldn’t lay down in it. But, as stated above it works well for us hauling crap around or paddling far enough to retrieve a downed duck in deeper water. I’ve got a carstens pintail that I use all the time, and love it. I also have a marsh rat that we’ve used the past couple years too. I’d take both over that awuapod any day of the week

However, the aquapod will float with a 240 lb. man paddling, and a 200 lb. man laying across the front deck....with gear. :yes :l

Ive got a 10' ..... 6' x 245. Wouldn't want to be in a smaller one. Ok for me, 15 cork decoys, 105 amp hr battery plus 55lb electric mtr on a transom mount and a gun. Paddles like crap loaded but I got around fine with the electric.

Yeah….was afraid of that. I want something to use instead of a pirogue, that could be hunted from if needed….but that paddles well and is comfortable to do so. If it can be poled, even better. Probably a hellbender or such, instead. Just had an 8’ pod come up locally. Shallow marsh use primarily.
