In the July, 2025 edition of American Hunter, there is an article about using a Savage Renegauge 12 gauge during an Argentina hunt. I'm otherwise not familiar with this shotgun, but the article's content is quite impressive.

Crickets chirping in the 5 years since it was released, price drop didn’t seem to help sales much…

Gotta be a reason for not hearing about the Savage until a magazine article popped up.

Got tons of press early on…

G&A GotY in 2021…

Then nothing…big ugly welds and $1500 for the 3” made me look away…

Thus far, Browming - Winchester shotguns have metal trigger guard assemblies. I hate the cleaning of the gas piston but I think Beretta Benelli should go back to an aluminum trigger guard group. The aluminum trigger group is more important to me than the ease of cleaning. If you have a current Beretta Benelli and are happy with it, I’m happy for you. My opinion is nort an attack on your preferences. Breda shotguns are inertia driven and have aluminum trigger groups.

I know a group that went with them when they came out and loved them. Ran them a few years and they started having feeding issues. Now they're all back to benellis and berettas. Whether it was a maintenance issue, or a gun issue, I don't know, but that gun is dead in the marketplace.
