Truman, not worried about the water (although love the free stuff) but would be lying if I said I wasn’t worried about the ducks! Been a tough few years on the prairies and undoubtedly has to impact the Fall flight. With that said those that come will hopefully take advantage of our buffet!!!

Thanks. Just didn’t look like the tops of any anchors I’ve seen or used.

There is also a flange around the bottom of the blind so adding soil on that is supposed to help with keeping them in the ground. I think the blind weighs around 4000 lbs but I know water can do some pretty crazy chit!!!

pretty impressive
That will look real good when everything grows up around it---

How do you have the drainage set up if someone doesn't secure one of the hatches?

I saw the flange also… I use 48” 6000# anchors normally. Had cables rust and one pit popped up. Added concrete barriers for insurance now…

Yeah, we did not go nearly that heavy or deep. We have had pits in this location for some time including two floods that overtopped our bottom. Tipped over an edge timber blind but the pits never budged. Not saying they won’t but don’t want to jinx it ;)

Wuchang, our goal is to always put the tops back on after every hunt. Only takes a few minutes to take off and put on. Hopefully won’t have to worry about drainage but if we take on water a trash pump or bucket always seems to do the trick.
