Documentation that there were 22,000 NRS that duck hunted?
(11,000 plus that responded +11,000 that did not?)

Please provide

^^^ If you apply the math, with 200 G/O's operating in Kansas, it amounts to a ~$124,320,000.00 gross cash flow.

I suspect the under the table cash flow to landowners likely provides significant resistance to any recognition/regulation of these cats.

Tax them and put it into a conservation fund. Why not? The only argument is some smooth-brained ‘all regyulashuns are bad!!!’ nonsense, as if regulations aren’t THE reason we even have ducks to hunt these days.

Even the above table cash flow would be enough

Tater….if there was some way to get you on the KDWP commission…….but you’d be outvoted regardless so it would make little difference

Nobody really gives a damn about guides and outfitters except for the $$$$$$…….or to be scapegoats because you can’t hunt farmer Brown’s for a fifth of Old Crow or whatever.

It is essentially a feel good issue for permanently landless
“We will show those rich G/Os alright”
If JP’s numbers are anywhere near reality……I picked the wrong business to get into long ago :yes :l

Licensing G/Os won’t bring one additional duck to Kansas for average Joe Kansas to shoot

Making them CPR qualified won’t bring an additional duck to Kansas

Drug testing them isn’t going to bring an additional duck to Kansas

What happens when a bureaucracy adds regulations?
They need additional $$$$/bureaucrats to administrate those regulations

So if G/O’s in Kansas have to buy a license, it’ll cause the state to hire some people to administer it? Great!

I think we can get lost in requiring CPR, insurance, etc. but the simple reality is as the guy said, you can’t operate a hotdog stand without a license, but G/O’s can somehow run a business and have no oversight? I’d rather the state of Kansas hire a few more Kansans, I don’t think that’s that bad of thing. And it would be great if license fees were earmarked for improving or buying more habitat.

It’s sad that we all sit around and complain and tell ourselves we have a government for the people and by the people, but we’re all fine (myself included) with governments at all levels doing basically whatever they want, and we just say yeah well they’ll ignore us. But I’m getting old enough to not be so naive as to why that is. But I can shout at the clouds at times too :yes

If KS is generating 124 million in revenue for the outfitters I’m guessing someone is going to be pitching this business plan on the next episode of Shark Tank!!! If you think you have problems now, wait till Mr. Wonderful shows up!!!!!

It isn't as much of a cash business as it once was. I'm sure most is done with cards and money apps.

Is outfitting more or less regulated than lawn care and snow removal?

Old Crow? That’s preposterous. I have a sliding scale. 1k acres and under get their favorite flavor of spirit. One old boy it’s Tanqueray gin and that’s all he wants. 2k acres and a bourbon aficionado get Blantons. 5k+ acres and bourbon knowledge get E.H Taylor. Nothing like Coors banquet and Taylor chasers after helping cut bull calves all day. Old Crow? GTFO of here…
